Coronavirus: Smokers quit in highest numbers in a decade

I think foolish is the wrong term and insulting people is not the way to get the message across. It’s still early days on the benefits of nicotine and (as far as I can see) there haven’t been any explanation of how nicotine helps prevent getting Covid-19. If it’s just nicotine in the body then use patches. If the nicotine has to be directly applied to the lungs then use a less harmful method such as vaping. If there’s more chance of dying from lung cancer than there is of dying from Covid-19 then quit.
