I think foolish is the wrong term and insulting people is not the way to get the message across. It’s still early days on the benefits of nicotine and (as far as I can see) there haven’t been any explanation of how nicotine helps prevent getting Covid-19. If it’s just nicotine in the body then use patches. If the nicotine has to be directly applied to the lungs then use a less harmful method such as vaping. If there’s more chance of dying from lung cancer than there is of dying from Covid-19 then quit. White knight!!!
Uh, I didn't insult Toasty. What, by pointing out his pseudo-religious zealotry? I suppose you think the atheists on the Religion board here are insulting religious posters when they post SCIENTIFIC evidence and they are told that faith is all one needs?
No, Stammaman, if you're smoking now and have no symptoms of lung cancer, there is a far greater chance you'll get the corona virus in the next 6 months than die of lung cancer. You keep insulting the anti-smoking majority by comparing them to an anti-scientific religious cult and you (mildly) insult people who have just given up smoking by calling them foolish. If it was proven that smoking saves lives and they are cutting short their own by jumping on to the religious cult bandwagon then, yes, they are foolish. But at the moment it’s like calling people fools because they step on cracks in the pavement/sidewalk.
