"The Chant of Jimmie Blacksmith" was gruelling. I got so angry for Jimmie. His victims were very unlikable people. An exceptionally well made, yet disturbing and tough film to sit through. I have seen it twice and I have on dvd, but haven't watched it again yet. I don't think I really want too. The film makes me very angry too. He committed a heinous crime, yet pushed so far that it almost seems acceptable. Yes, it's an excellent film, but it's also very disturbing and I can really see no reason to watch it again. I was thinking a few minutes ago about another way to describe how I feel about the movie. I think Jimmie was a really good guy who did an awful thing whereas his victims were not good people at all and had something terrible happen to them.
