My favourite film of the last decade is Ida, which is indeed (so I just read on Wiki) independently produced and distributed, on a budget of $2.6m, so that definitely does.
I didn’t like Ida all that much, but MY favourite film of the last decade is probably Cold War, from the same Polish director. Have you seen that one?
