I said I wasn't going to watch the debates and you acted as if I questioned their importance. You misunderstood my commentary, and now that I pointed out your mistake, you're shifting your argument to, "Well your opinion doesn't matter in this discussion. This is about everyone else!" Should I try to speak for others next time, or just continue to express my personal opinion?

You act like Trump hasn't flubbed words, forgotten the names of people he was talking about, forgotten the word he wanted to use, and was wrong about things that are common knowledge to 6th grade students.
