That was a weird time on this show, and when I started tuning out, (although I've seen most episodes later in reruns). Season 6, Peggy and Marcie are both pregnant, but Katey Segal miscarries in real life.

So they eliminate the pregnancy plotline later in the season by making it just a dream Al had. Then the next season, they add that kid to the cast, only to drop him later.

You made me laugh reminding me of the the "milk carton" incident!  That was the key to this show: the horrible things they did and said to each other were so exaggerated and over-the-top that they couldn't be taken seriously. If it were realistic, everyone would hate the Bundy's and Al would go "Psycho-Dad" and kill them all! This show could NOT be made today because everyone are such sensitive PC snowflakes! No sense of humor.

There is a new show that is good and comes pretty close called "The Detour". Check that out if you like Married With Children. Not the same, but funny AF!
