I think The Ninth Configuration is Blatty's best film on the subject of faith--have to wonder how the Exorcist would have been with Scott as Kinderman--it wouldn't have happened of course-he would have had to have a much bigger role.
There's a couple of scenes with Dourif that are creepy effective--but the REAL star is the jump scare. People told me about it and when I finally watched it, I was waiting.
The glass was a nice red herring because it did lower my guard for the real one.
