I' rewatched this for the 3rd/4th time and it is still a brilliant, very dark, gripping adaption of David Peace's Red Riding Quartet of novels mixing fact and fiction about police corruption and brutality in West Yorkshire, using the Yorkshire Ripper story as a backdrop. I had planned to watch one part each day but got so drawn into it that I watched the whole show without much of a break. Much of the show's success is down to the ensemble who probably at that time represented some of the cream of UK TV's top actors, including Sean Bean, David Morrissey, Rebecca Hall, Andrew Garfield, Peter Mullan and others. Quality show
