Thank God she is in an Iowa nursing home. Here they are full of COVID. But there you don't have that problem. My mom had 2 nursing home stays. One for a month. The other was 3 months. She got well both times and returned to her home. I pray your mom gets home quickly! All my best Martin!! Ps are you able to have contact ever? Can you bring her 'treats'? My mom loved anything!! She hated the food After 14 days they will bring her out to the patio and we can visit there outside. As for treats I think they do accept them. As for covid-19 Iowa seems to be spiking right now. Even here in the county I live in. They'll let you bring her goodies? That's a nice plus. It's sad that we can only see them through glass and talk on the phone. I thought Iowa was pretty low in the covid counts. Definitely bring treats that the staff can disinfect - just in case, maybe things that are packaged or wrapped. Gives them one less reason to turn the treats away.
