Agree with threesticks on both Bieber and Darvish, but you unsurprisingly left out a few things. Giolito, 3.29 ERA, 0.988 WHIP (which is outstanding). He's thrown 6 more innings than DeGrom has. DeGrom, 1.69 ERA, 0.875 WHIP (both of which are outstanding). DeGrom also leads the NL in K/9 with 13.1/9 against Lucas' also terrific 12.3/9 and his BB/9 is lower than that of Giolito (2.1/9 against 3.0/9). Pitcher's job = run prevention. Degrom >>> Giolito this year, which isn't a knock on Lucas, he's been great. EDIT: Why would you pose this question with guys from different leagues? Theoretically, they could both win. If DeGrom won the Cy, you’d be hard pressed to make an argument against it. Giolito is having a Cy caliber season in the AL but he hasn’t separated himself from that group behind Bieber. Grienke, Bundy, Meada, Kuechel, or Lynn all are in the same tier as Giolito right now. I'm a Mets fan so if deGrom wins another Cy, I certainly wouldn't shed a tear. Darvish has been outstanding, pretty much on par with deGrom but his 7-2 record would give him the edge. Bieber on the other hand, there's no rational argument that can be made for him not winning if the season ended today. He's 7-0 and leads all of baseball in ERA (1.25), Ks (94), ERA+ (374 which is insane), and K/9 (14.7). Magnificent.
