Cuties (2020) review

As I said, I was in a hurry, and also trying to avoid any real spoilers.

I just generally liked the story, showing Amy "stuck between two worlds". I thought Amy's mother gives a pretty great performance, too. One of the most effective scenes in the movie is the one I wrote about where the mother is calling people to tell them about her husband taking a second wife. The mom tried to act like she's happy, but when she hangs up she bursts into tears. Amy, hiding, is forced to cry quietly lest she be discovered. It's a real heartbreaking scene.

The things I don't like: Amy does a few things that I feel would have had MAJOR consequences in real life, and we don't really see those consequences (other than her mother yelling at her, and slapping her in one scene). Also, while I liked the ending, it involved a very abrupt turn that could have been handled better.
