Just recently saw this very enjoyable sci-fi/horror film, and that part must have been truly terrifying for the poor diner owner (Candy Clark) who desperately needed some rescuing, and knowing also from earlier on that she was about to go on a date with the local Sheriff (Jeffrey DeMunn), but now he is just another victim, and the last thing she witness before a gruesome death, is the disfigured remains of her date.
For it is written: the inhabitants of the Earth have been made drunk with her blood. And I saw her sent upon a hairy beast and she held forth a golden chalice full of the filthiness of fornications. And upon her forehead was written: "Behold I am the great mother of harlots and all abominations of the Earth."
