The surprising stuff is what make baseball great. Yeah, there are surprises in other sports, but nothing like those that stick with you in baseball. Those who watch the Mets games never forget the Bartolo Colon HR, or the Syndergaard 2 HR game, or Steve Matz's pitching debut with his performance with the bat. The Steve Carlton's 3 run HR against the Dodgers in the NLCS back in the 70s still sticks in my mind. I was at Shea for both of these: I don't know what kind of tainted LSD this announcer is on, but King Felix going big fly off Johan with the bases juiced is now a relic of the past. Also was fortunate to see the final pitch ever for Lima Time: Willis' shot was legit. Jose Lima always looks like he is psyched up. This was a long time ago, Willie Randolph managed the Mets & Joe Girardi managed the Marlins.
