That CP guy seems like a complete twat. He may be surprised to know that a decent percentage of my Collingwood Football Club membership fees go to subsidising struggling clubs because having awful teams drags down the quality of the overall product and hurts the competition they both play in. In the EFL's case it's basically investing in grass roots as none of these teams are in the top flight. He also misses the point that the EPL along with the huge ridiculous parachute payments given to relegated clubs have created the dichotomy of the haves and have nots and encouraged massive overspending. Palace have been a one man team for years which is why Zaha is practically chained to a wall in Croydon most nights, without him, they wouldn't be taking such a high and mighty tone, they'd be a mid second stream side which is where they belong. Personally I think that 250 million mainly concentrated on League 1 and 2 and Non League football would be a fair sum, there would be very few players to steal at a low price if it wasn't for the massive hard work put into their development at those levels.
