People like you seem to live in a fantasy world where men have no weakness or fragility. I am a man and I suffer emotionally all the time, so I am going to like watching characters I can relate to in that way.
What you call wimpy I call realistic and interesting. Bruce Wayne has been a troubled character in every Batman movie.
If your idea of realism is Tarzan, James Bond and Conan, then no wonder.
Have you ever seen Greystoke? That shows a complex realistic version of Tarzan.
