My favorite by Lars von Trier is Manderlay, I'm not very fond of Melancholia nor Nymphomaniac 1 and 2. Dancer in the Dark is pretty good.
As for Nicolas winding Refn., I've only seen Drive and Bronson. I rated Bronson 4/5 and Drive 3,5/5.
