I gotta say, the attempts that are surfacing in the last few years to rehabilitate the prequels as "good films that were misunderstood" is kinda funny. Those movies are cinematic dog turds. Nothing more, nothing less. And Plinkett did a superb job of dissecting them. Truth.Hims just ran his mouth off! Much of it was overly critical hyperbole. He certainly exaggerated for comic effect in many ways, but the exaggerations are mostly cosmetic. The reason everyone liked those reviews so much is that you could ignore all the comedy and still see one of the most incisive works of criticism ever levelled at a movie. Really the only "dated" thing about them is that so many people have followed in Plinkett/Stoklasa's shoes that they can have a " Seinfeld is Unfunny" kind of vibe to them these days.
