I’m shocked more aren’t saying Back to the Future over Out of Africa. That movie didn’t even seem that well received by critics, which makes its Best Picture win kind of head scratching
Back to the Future was a cute movie, but not jaw dropping. Yeah, Out of Africa was a ponderous bore and 1985 was a weak year. I would have either voted for Witness or Agnes of God (not nominated).
