I don't know about any particular film, but David Cronenberg's are cold and clinical, just as Kubrick's films are cold and clinical.

Of course, Kubrick's film are stately, whereas Cronenberg's films are often low-down schlock. This is not meant to be a putdown of Cronenberg.
