Was looking for another gruesome horror movie to watch with my kid and stumbled upon this one. I hadn’t seen it myself in about 10 years. Although written by Quentin Tarantino, everything before getting to The Titty Twister seems distinctly his. Once the body parts go flying, it feels much more in Robert Rodriguez’s wheelhouse. It makes for a hilariously violent amalgamation. Of the performances, Harvey Keitel fares best. Mr. Tarantino’s fetish hits a high when he drinks liquor off Salma Hayek’s foot. Speaking of Hayek, it’s probably illegal to look as good as she does here. Add in Tom Savini, Fred Williamson, the first time we see Texas Ranger Earl McGraw, multiple Cheech Marins, and you’ve got a pretty entertaining movie. Haven’t seen any of the sequels nor TV series.
