I get it. I'm just not as freaked out about what happened as you are. You're very cautious with this - - that's you. I take my kids down to the beach where others don't have masks on. That's me. I've read the data. I'm not worried about outdoor situations. I'm not worried about getting COVID from my groceries. I don't walk my dogs with a mask on. I don't avoid a core group of friends that I have (going to our best friend's house with five families total to have quarantine Halloween for the kids). Some people are more risk-adverse than others - - some people freak out about everything. No.
The difference between people like you and me is -
I care about other people. I care about my community and my neighbors
I don't know if I have it. I wear a mask for YOU
I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I ever found out I was responsible to passing it off to somebody else causing a chain reaction which could pass it off to somebody with a weak immune system in turn killing them.
This is exactly how it keeps spreading - people literally do not care - and it's astonishing how many of them are out there.
You know, people can morally one-up you as well. You go out running with a mask on? Don't you know that your breath still gets out? And you're running, so you are breathing more heavily, meaning more of your breath is getting out? How incredibly selfish of you! Why aren't you in your house 24-7? You don't care about your community and your neighbors! You're not wearing a mask for me - - you're wearing a mask so you can feel smug. Keep running and keep spreading it - - how completely selfish.
