The beginning of MISSING LINK is a cross between AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS and ATLANTIS: THE LOST EMPIRE. Don't worry. The rest of the plot doesn't copy them nor any other movie... directly. Instead, writer/director Chris Butler pulls out a big bag of clichés to cover more ground, so it's unoriginal in a different way. In fact, there's no creativity until the (exciting) climax. The production values are as good as you'd expect from Laika, but the comedy is painfully unfunny. Some of the jokes are like my relatives' foreheads: You can see them coming from a mile away. 3/10 ------------------------------------- You can read comments of other movies in my blog.
