Meanwhile, +9,165 Covid deaths reported today which is the worst figure ever. Europe is totally in grips of Coronavirus although I have seen moronic Europeans moaning about USA's handling of the virus. Death per million rate of Italy and UK very likely to surpass US figures soon. Spain and Belgium already far ahead. The numbers are scary at the moment. The US seems to be pulling away from India still and pretty quickly. Europes figures are indeed shocking. Here in the UK it's being reported that the partial local lock downs were working and the numbers are down in those areas and the now implemented national three quarter lock down should men we only see a short sharp spike of cases and deaths before they quickly decline before Christmas. I have little faith that will happen. It's the first day of the national lock down today and it looked to me there was the same amount of people out and about. I started a second job this week and there has been no mention of Covid let alone any lock down consideration. I'm amazed it's not even a topic of conversation. Indeed it's scary. My question is how long would it continue to be so? Personally, I have already faced a loss because of Covid. I got promotion ( increase in designation) even while working from home but my company didn't increase my salary because of economic uncertainty. All that pushed my plan for future a bit behind. So, in similar way I can see millions facing problems because of the virus. May be many not just did not get salary hike but even lost their jobs. Some people dismiss the virus as something capable of only hurting old people or people with underlying conditions and argue for no lock-down. But I find that line of thinking childish. Potential death of millions of people would ultimately shake the foundations of modern humanity itself and hurt us for years. It will give us guilty feeling too if our disinterestedness leads to too many deaths . So of course governments should take action to slow down the spread of virus and citizens should co-operate. But are we really doing that? Of course the fault lies in each of us (government and citizens). Today again France posted +828 new deaths. France's population is less than 20% of US population. So if you compare countries on same scale, then Europe right now is facing way more crisis. It's a lot unjustified to make fun of US of not being able to handle and ignore some other countries. Also, France added further 60,000+ new cases which could lead to even more deaths after 10 days from now. India seems to be facing less wrath lately but virus has again been increasing faster in the national capital region in the last 10 days. So, it could be again in full force in India when Indian winter arrives in December. And here people are gain disregarding masks. It's just like lighting a match and hoping the fire doesn't spread.
