Where did he say that? I am not a big Star Wars fan, but that he did not call it childish nonsense. Guinness always had a lukewarm relationship with the franchise. I think his exact words describing his thoughts on it when given the part were 'fairy tale rubbish'. Later apparently when he first saw it he said:
, "It's a pretty staggering film as spectacle and technically brilliant. Exciting, very noisy and warm-hearted. The battle scenes at the end go on for five minutes too long, I feel, and some of the dialogue is excruciating and much of it is lost in noise, but it remains a vivid experience."
I do find it funny that he seemed the most convinced out of the original cast that it was gonna be a huge hit. And to my understanding he never complained about the salary. I know, but the interview he doesn't say that. He says that the dialogue is not good, but he seemed to like the story.
