Man he must have really wanted another Men In Black (two sequels and an animated series). I think he was really overestimating this one, particular since he was working with M. Fucking Night Shamalyan. True, by that point people considered MNS the kiss of death before Split redeemed him (and before Glass ruined him again). Must had been a director-for-hire gig but why not go with someone he's used to like Barry Sonnenfeld?
