It's been a long time since I've listened to the fan with any regularity, but I also liked Beningo. Evan Roberts I can do without but Beningo is solid. The despair in his voice following soul-crushing Jets and Mets losses, or rather any day that ends in Y, truly came across.
Wasn't he a caller that ultimately got promoted to the gig he got? Or am I thinking of someone else? I swear I thought one of the fan guys was a true success story like that, like that Eagles movie with Mark Wahlberg.
I didn't realize he was stepping down, but I trust he's actually retiring, as opposed to fatass Francessa who has retired 4 times now.
