I always liked it. The opening fight is awesome. There are elements that simply aren't interesting like the love triangle or Henry Thomas' role. But I dug both DiCaprio and Daniel Day-Lewis;this may be my favorite performance for the latter. Watching Jim Broadbent as Boss Tweed is pretty funny. I appreciate it trying to portray a grittier seedier side of the immigrant experience in 19th century New York.
