Has such a spectacular opening, the rest of of the movie can’t live up to it. Still, Daniel Day-Lewis is ferocious and brilliant. The monologue about fear, with the U.S. flag around his shoulders, is the kind of moment that wins awards. If you’re gonna have Liam Neeson as a sword wielding priest, maybe not have him exit so early.  I was trying to come up with other movies that couldn't quite live up to the first minutes. Mad Max was one. The opening car chase was great, then the movie poked along for a a long time
