Maybe this one's been done but in the film Zodiac the lead detective, Dave Toschi, sees Dirty Harry in a theater. Clever, as Dirty Harry is based on the Zodiac killer and Harry Callahan is loosely based on Dave Toschi. (So is Bullitt.) Dirty Harry came out while the Zodiac case was still hot, so Toschi might well have seen it. In the film he walks out of the theater.
