It's been a long time since I've listened to the fan with any regularity, but I also liked Beningo. Evan Roberts I can do without but Beningo is solid. The despair in his voice following soul-crushing Jets and Mets losses, or rather any day that ends in Y, truly came across. Wasn't he a caller that ultimately got promoted to the gig he got? Or am I thinking of someone else? I swear I thought one of the fan guys was a true success story like that, like that Eagles movie with Mark Wahlberg. I didn't realize he was stepping down, but I trust he's actually retiring, as opposed to fatass Francessa who has retired 4 times now. Go enjoy yourself, Joe. You've earned it. He was. I think he was calling in when he was in broadcasting school, so it's not the craziest leap, but still that's a very cool story. I'm totally with you. I haven't listened to the Fan hardly at all of late and only just recently learned that he had his last show the other day. I'm sorry that I missed it. I now really have no reason whatsoever to listen unless there's a game on. Maybe late night if 'Shmooze' is on every once in a while. What's worse is also that convicted felon and unspeakable dipshit Craig Carton is replacing him. Francessa was a ridiculous gas bag, but he was good for an unintentional laugh from time to time. No appeal to Carton whatsoever. The Fan is pretty much over as far I'm concerned. Shmooze was my favorite before Joe came in. I also like Tony Paige's personality, but he talks mostly boxing. Not too crazy about Craig Carton. I doubt I'll be listening to the fan that much anymore.
