Oh, Marley for the reasons everyone’s said in this thread, but I do want to defend the second movie. It’s not as good as the first, but what I appreciate about it is how it twists the first one’s plot-points on their head, at least in the first half. There’s a reason for the oversleeping this time, we’re led to believe Kevin’s still in the house until Catherine O’Hara looks behind her, etc. True, the movie pretty much becomes a straight but weaker remake when Pesci and Stern pop up, but I think the first half—with one of Tim Curry’s most gloriously over-the-top performances—is surprisingly good. I agree with you. But I also think if you scrap the Pigeon Lady and do just Mr. Duncan. Then it works better.
