Oh, Marley for the reasons everyone’s said in this thread, but I do want to defend the second movie. It’s not as good as the first, but what I appreciate about it is how it twists the first one’s plot-points on their head, at least in the first half. There’s a reason for the oversleeping this time, we’re led to believe Kevin’s still in the house until Catherine O’Hara looks behind her, etc. True, the movie pretty much becomes a straight but weaker remake when Pesci and Stern pop up, but I think the first half—with one of Tim Curry’s most gloriously over-the-top performances—is surprisingly good. I agree with you. But I also think if you scrap the Pigeon Lady and do just Mr. Duncan. Then it works better. Oh yeah, agreed she’s pointless. And the movie’s second half is pretty much a retread. But I like it for that slightly-tweaking-formula, Curry-packed first half. By the way, glad to see you here again (or at least posting under your old cognomen), Mello! Any news on ye olde Sinbad/Shazaam mystery?
