I have only become acquainted with Seuss as an adult and don't care much for the Christmas cartoons BUT for me .. the TV Grinch is perfection ... not a term I use lightly ! I watch it every year ... once a year even tho' I have it on disk. I now could say the lines along with Karloff but I don't !
Most of Seuss I can take or leave but the Grinch is in a whole other plain !

Most people do love it and I understand why.
While sweet and has a nice message, it has always sort of bored me. I watch the Jim Carrey version about once every couple years around Christmas. It is a strange, more cynical bombastic comedy version of the book and TV special and I enjoy it for what it is. It still ends with the same meaningful message as the original though.
