You have the Grinch out-running an explosion in slo-mo!! If that isn't great, then I don't know what is. The movie is like a SNL Grinch skit turned into an entire movie.

I watched it right before last Christmas and I really wanted to like it, but it’s too reluctant to get away from the silly (and I’d argue easy) humor of a kid-friendly Jim Carrey.

Like I said, I enjoy it though. It’s a fun watch around Christmas.

Those 2 statements seem to contradict each other. I am not trying to be difficult, I just don't understand.

I love easy humor. I refer to it as "cheap" humor. Basically the stuff you "dislike" about it is exactly what I like about it.
