I felt sad for Fassbinder's character.
I did, too. His movies are filled with sad people who just can't compete. I don't think Fassbinder knew how or just wasn't interested in making a light hearted movie.
But I loved the piece of furniture that allowed three people to sit in, side to side. I've never seen a chair like that before.
