That is likely true, at least not physically. There are 414,000 priests in the world. If 50,000 of them harm children, that leaves 364,000 that don't. The problem is that the Catholic Churches are being much too forgiving of the 50,000 that do and are known to actively hide them from justice. CURRENTLY there are 414,000 priests in the world. As with the cases where parents have sexually abused children, the cases of priests sexually abusing children didn't all happen at the same time, but, different times throughout the past several decades. Some going back as maybe as far as the 20s or 30s. In all likelihood, there were far more than just 414,000 priests back then. It’s the cover up, in that the bishops shifted known pedophile priests around and the church lawyers intimated and shamed as liars the abuse survivors and their families. That’s the rotten core of this whole sorted scandal, not the sex abuse. Pedophiles priests are sick individuals. Their enablers are not. For many years the chief counsel for the Arch Diocese of New York was Roy Cohn. Now how can you go wrong with advice from that guy.
