Haven't seen Alien-Covenant yet.
Don't care to rank the AvP films. Only saw the first one fragmented and I hated the second one. I also dislike PREDATORS.
After just seeing Alien: Covenant, I am feeling ambivalent about it. I didn't like it as much as Prometheus and while there were some good sequences, I felt a bit detached from the characters and their dilemma as well. With the exception of David\Walter, they were pretty much all nondescript to me. I wasn't as engrossed or involved by the proceedings. Ripley is sorely missed.
I feel Scott dropped the ball in attempting to give us something along the lines of his original Alien as well. It came across as tired and worn in parts, and he did better with his other 2 alien films. I really loath the alien attack scene in the shower. This scene was like something out of a cheesy "B" grader and lowered it's IQ level. These characters could have been utilized in the final hunt of the alien aboard the craft to better effect, and not used as alien fodder in a generic slasher shower sequence, replete with nudity and sexualization. The film didn't intrigue or excite me like the last offering.
