To be an atheist you have to have some pretty strong species narcissism. The height of species narcissism is more the idea that we are made specially, and in the image of God, or that we are a chosen people, or that we are treated with undue care and attention by the Cause of all reality. To say that God cannot be fathomed, or known, about is actually the agnostic position. The idea of an external God that created us in His own image and micromanages the world is silly to me. It seems like the image of God atheists most want to debate. You can't have a debate about God when people don't agree on what 'God' is (David Bentley Hart wrote a fantastic book on this topic).
