Of course, Toasty. They dress it up these days with a pseudo-scientific term like "pandemic". But it's still an old fashioned plague. A pandemic is a transferable disease that spreads to multiple countries while a plague can refer to the same thing that remains within a limited area (although that is now often referred to as a epidemic). Calling it “pseudoscientific” strikes me as weird as the scientific community has a habit of coming up with new words and phrases.
