Should all cats die?
Deer (and cats) are living, sentient beings that are part of the ecosystem here on Planet Earth. We humans are not the only species, nor are we the most important. This is all one big world, we are all a part of it.
Maybe you will now be more aware when you are driving, save a life and not wreck your car. It could have been operator error, you know. Why do you think it was the deer's fault? Maybe your car brake system was faulty, or your steering system was not operating as it should. Or you were talking or texting.
I have lived in rural mid-America for 40 years, and when I drive at night, I am always aware of the terrain around me, and what might be hiding in the bushes. I have stopped for deer, raccoons, opossums, turtles, cats, dogs, rabbits and snakes. Oh, and squirrels who seem intent on committing suicide.
On my now-retired Toyota, which has 425,000 miles on it, there is a bumper sticker - "I Brake for Animals."
It makes me feel sad when I see a squished kangaroo etc on the side of the road, but due to the nature of the road as well, I know I am going to do what I can to avoid serious injury/harm to myself, or others, by hitting oncoming traffic, or ending up in a gully just to avoid hitting an animal. That is the rule of the road. The nitwit cyclists on this road are more of a menace to avoid hitting regardless.
