Wow... It's incredibly quite mind-boggling, how people were more educated, smarter, and more creative 25 years ago ( BEFORE THE INTERNET)... My grandparents lived in the mountains of North Carolina over 25 years ago, and Deer Horn/Whistle/Sonic devices were quite popular at the time. I saw many cars with them installed. Not sure how well they work, but... At least people were trying different ways to keep from having car accidents with deer... and some tried to come up with ideas, LIKE: building "wildlife overpasses"... And now? We have the internet, with all this deer "avoidance technology" knowledge from all over the world instantly available to us with a flick of a switch and a simple 5 minute Google search... And yet, somehow, people just think "Killing All Deer" is the only solution that possibly exists... Unfortunately, I don't think those deer whistles work. My Mom used those for many years, and she hit so many deer that she earned herself the nickname "The Deer Slayer". She finally realized that she needed to reduce her speed (especially at dusk), and stay alert.
