I believe at one point in 1978, he had the #1 song, he was in the #1 movie, and appearing on the #1 late night television show. And when you consider he did all this while doing enough cocaine to get a small nation high as kites, that's pretty friggin impressive.

I feel like he would've experimented with more auteurs. He would've definite;y kept pushing perhaps to work in more serious fare.
