From a 2018 Pennsylvania Grand Jury report (reported by CBS & Fox News) A Pennsylvania priest, Thomas Scotek, raped a young girl, got her pregnant, and then that priest arrange for an abortion. The priest’s senior, Bishop James Timlin, expressed his feelings in a letter. The Bishop wrote, “This is a very difficult time in your life, and I realize how upset you are. I, too, share your grief.” Except that the Bishop’s letter was not for the girl. The Bishop wrote that letter to the rapist. When I googled the priest’s name, I came upon an interview where the priest still says Mass mornings in his room. WTF??? Here is a man of God who raped a minor over a four year period. He continued to act as a priest for two decades. He still considers himself a priest, just not an active priest. Skotek was never charged with a crime even though he never contested the abuse allegations. My question for all you Catholics out there: Is Jesus going to let this guy into Heaven? Priests in the Catholic church have a get-out-of-jail card along with elders in the Jehovah Witness cult. In the case of the JW, the rape victim has two choices: continue the abuse or suffer the fate of an apostate. IF he accepts Christ as his savior, is redeemed and and has received the gift of eternal life, the Christian doctrine pretty much guarantees the guy will enter into the kingdom of heaven or the kingdom of God. Since Christianity says Jesus died for the sins of mankind....ALL sins for ALL mankind and his blood washes away all sins, then that sin...his rape of that girl... has already been punished and the priest need not be punished for it.
