I'm all for the fine money being used for a good cause (he's not the first athlete to suggest this), but the line at the end about how his attention is worth more is just me-first bullshit and proves that he doesn't really understand the Malcolm X quote. It also kinda undermines what I think he thinks his message really is. He doesn't want to be mis-represented. That's totally fair and a valid gripe, but your attention isn't "worth more." That just makes you an asshole. I don't want to deal with the folks in my firm's billing department every single day. They're mostly incompetent and whiny, and they think that they can do no wrong in this world. I don't get paid extra to deal with them but it's part of the process and part of my job. ALSO, he didn't watch Queen's Gambit. Pawns are a vital part of basic chess strategy and they can't be flippantly disregarded like that. I won a few games by pushing the pawns forward and choking the king. The opponents don't know what to do when two of them slowly creeping across the board side by side.
