Baseball Team. It sounds so old-timey that I kinda love it. I've actually really grown to love Football Team for the same reason.
You're actually on to something, they could go by the old timey name "Americans" ( as in AL ) which would provide a nice complement to the Washington "Nationals" ( as in NL )
