Ok. But the Patriots weren't in a bad division in those years I mentioned, nor were they in a bad division in many other years. I mean, that's what the numbers say.

With 0 superbowl appearances in recent years, I'm having trouble understanding how the Saints benefitted from being in a weak division.

The Saints benefited from being in a weak division by easily being able to win that division with little or no pressure from the other division teams.

Just like the Patriots did when they were in a weak division.
