Putting his 3 1/2 star review of Last House and his zero star review of I Spit On Your Grave side by side is interesting. Then again, he apparently saw ISOYG with the Jewish extras from The Passion of the Christ. I know, right? I mean both LHOTL and ISOYG are pretty much cut from the same cloth, so I don't get Ebert's logic on loving one and loathing the other. The difference for me is that Last House on the Left is done far better and is a clever shock horror twist on The Virgin Spring. It is the poetic nature of the second half of the movie that sets it apart from I Spit on Your Grave. I Spit on Your Grave is exploitation at it's worst. It is not only a very dumb movie, it is a very boring movie.
