I see The Day It Came to Earth mentioned twice, 16 & 22. Since there's is room for another I would suggest The Thing From Another World(1951) or that one above Forbidden Planet(1956).

Thanks for notifying me of the mistake. I actually wrote another film in there, but for some reason, the "interspace" does whatever it wants to do at times. I've searched to find which film was missing, and now put it in.

A lot of these are not big on special effects, but instead offer credible characters in incredible circumstances. Many honorable mentions have already been mentioned by others. Some other honorable mention are the original Nightflyers, From Beyond, Jurassic Park, Earth vs. the Flying Saucers, Conquest of Space, and Planet of Dinosaurs.
