David Cone was very good for a few stretches, alas I never thought him future HOF'er.
Same for Dave Stieb. As a Jays fan, he had a bunch of double digit losses during his prime, not a low enough ERA to keep those strong offensive teams in the W column frequently enough. Yes he was a suave thrower & had very memorable games, alas he wasn't quite HOF'er either.
