My top crisper drawer is for veggies, and though I make a lot of salads, it can go unopened for a few days and then things start yellowing, wilting, or sliming.
Bottom drawer is just for things with far-off dates, apples, oranges, and maybe avocados. Coffee creamer, bacon or sausage, etc. Sometimes I miss dates as well there.
I put cut onion in the butter compartment on the door, and cut avocado. I don't use butter.
